24-25 Season - Week 3 Recap

July 15th - July 21st, 2024

Week 3 was yet another busy week for Pokemon TCG Competitors, as we had 19 total events held across the country. There were 3 Cups and 16 Challenges held in 6 States (and one territory).

In the Masters Division, Nathan Spry continues his reign atop the leaderboard for the 3rd week in a row finishing the week with 129 CP. He is joined in the top 3 by 2 other NSW players, David Younan with 112CP and Christian Hasbani at 108CP

There is a new leader on top of the Senior Standings this week. Elijah Smart (NSW) tops the week 3 leaderboard with 117CP after his 1st place challenge finish this week. Following closely behind is Noah Lewis in 2nd with 115 and a 2-way tie in 3rd place between Hikaru Handa and Charlie Rafferty, both with 105 CP

The Junior division has a new leader for week 3 as well, with Jesse Lewis taking his 50 points from the League Cup this weekend all the way to the top with 120. Minoru Handa is in 2nd with 115CP and Arnold Hepner rounds out the top 3 with 105CP.

We are only missing 7 results (both league challenges) so far. 2 From the previous week and 5 from this week. If you have any of the missing results from the events below please let us know and we will update accordingly!

NEW SOUTH WALES:

NSW held 3 events this week, 2 challenges and a cup.

The big story of the weekend in the Masters Division was David Younan, who Finished with a 1st in 1 Challenge, a 2nd in a Challenge and capped the weekend off with a 3rd place at the Games Corner cup finish to fly up the leaderboards to 2nd place. Christian Hasbani won the cup, putting him squarely in 3rd on the leaderboards after week 3.

 VICTORIA:

Victoria had a massive week, with 5 challenges and 2 cups on the schedule. There were tons of Championship Points handed out this weekend. You can view the results of each of those below:

SOUTH AUSTRALIA:

South Australia had only one Championship Points event this weekend but we don’t have results for this one yet!

QUEENSLAND:

4 League challenges were held in QLD this week.

Mint Collectables kicked off the week with a League Challenge on the 17th. Edin Visca took the win in the Masters Division, and Harry Hall took the points in the Juniors Division.

Vault Games was held on the 20th, with 18 Masters in attendance, and Natalie Millar making their debut on the points leaderboard with a 5-0-0 win and 15CP. Gustavo Goncalves took the win in Seniors and Charlie Lindh won the Junior Division.

CTC Games also held a challenge on the 20th, with Jason Beasley taking the win in Masters, Micah Glover in Seniors, and Gabriel Chong in Juniors.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA:

Wester Australia held one League Challenge this week at Good Games Cannington. Shaun Sewell won the challenge in the Masters Division with Dragapult, while Jack Oldfield took second with Regidrago.

In the Seniors Division, Lucas Johnston won with Turbo Hands, and Xander Murray won the Juniors Division with Miraidon. 

TASMANIA:

There was 2 League Challenges in Tasmania.

Scenic Isle Gaming held a challenge on the 19th of July. Thomas Bourke won the challenge with Arceus. There wer no points earners for Seniors, but Oliver Slater did earn his 1st 15CP of the season in Juniors with the Challenge win!

Area 52 held its 1st CP event of the season on Sunday the 21st, with Thomas Bourke going back to back in Masters. Hamish O. took the win in Seniors, and there were no Junior CP earners.

 AUSTRALIAN CAPITOL TERRITORY:

The first CP event of the season was held in ACT at Good Games Canberra City. 7 masters were in attendance, with Keegan Burt taking the win in Masters. At the time of posting, we do not yet have results for Seniors or Juniors.
