For the 24-25 Season, the qualification system has gone through a major overhaul. These changes will begin from July 1st, 2024 and continue through the season until Worlds 2025.

Here are some of the highlights:

• The 2025 season will change the method by which competitors will qualify for the World Championships by removing the points threshold and replacing it with a Top X system (A Set number of players from each region will qualify)
• Automatic qualifiers will remain for all Regional and Special Event Champions and be expanded to include the top 4 finishers from each of the 3 International Championships (these competitors will not count against the Top X number)
• Best Finish Limits (BFL) have been adjusted so that they include 4 BFLs for Cups and Challenges and 6 BFLs for Regional Championships, Special Events and International Championships.
• Pokemon has teased a new Championship Points Season Reward program that will be announced at a later date.
