News

Quarter 1 has been quite an eventful one! Packed full of events across the county, the first regionals of the year and the opening of registration for Perth. Japan held its first City Leagues and Champions League events and we got a sneak peak at the 2nd largest set in Pokemon’s history, Surging Sparks.

Perth Regonal Registration

Perth Regionals is being held at the Perth Convention Centre on Dec 7-8 2024. We are still awaiting the announcement of the 3rd Australian regional, which has been promised!

Registration is now live here:

First Regionals of The Year

There have been 3 Regionals so far in the 24-25 Season. North America, Latin America and Europe have each held their first regional of the season. To view the recap of those events see the links below:

Surging Sparks Showcases New Cards

We have gotten a look at most of the new cards from Pokemon’s newest set releasing November 8th (TCG Live on November 7th). Surging Sparks will be one of the largest set releases in Pokemon history, with over 250 cards expected, including cards from the Japanese set Paradise Dragona and the soon to be released Japanese set Supercharged Breaker. The later set, which has a heavy focus on lightning-type Pokemon and support, also influenced the name of this set. Expect to see quite a few Dragon-type and Lightning-type Pokemon and support for those typings in this set!

Plus, we get a Terra Pikachu EX!!!!

Oceania Standings:

We have been diligently collecting results from across the country in order to keep up with the standings of all 3 divisions across Australia. Pokemon.com has now published the official leaderboards for the 2024-25 Season and that should be your first source of truth for all information related to the standings in Oceania.

Moving forward we will be using these leaderboards to report on the standings each month. When the season ends only the Top 20 Masters, Top 10 Seniors and Top 10 Juniors (Excluding all automatic qualifiers) will be chosen to represent the Oceania region at the world championships.

Here is your current qualifiers, if the season were to end today:
